In addition to the unique wireless Wii remote controller, Nintendo Wii Fit uses another unique platform peripheral, the wireless Wii Fit Balance Board. The Wii Fit with Wii balance board measures a user’s weight and center of gravity and then the Wii Fit software calculates the body mass.

It has a plain white top with a light grey bottom. It requires four AA batteries, which last for about 60 hours. The Wii Fit balance board contains multiple pressure sensors (four) that are used to measure the user’s center of balance and body mass index. Although the Wii Fit with Wii balance board will only display weight readings up to 330lbs, the actual physical structure of the Wii balance board is able to withstand up to 300 kg or 660 pounds.
