If you decided to go out and purchase a video game console you would most probably be faced by a dilemma and confusion…which gaming console does what?…what is the difference between this gamer and that one?…which is the most suitable gaming console?… This is owed mostly to the numerous different gaming consoles in the market; and especially now when the new generation of gaming consoles are hitting the markets all at once. If you’re looking for a compact gaming console that delivers a full package of fun this festive season, and especially for a Christmas gift, then perhaps the Nintendo Wii would be a good starting point.
The Nintendo Wii takes the cake in its compact and unique design. The Nintendo Wii console is only about 2.7 pounds heavy, measuring 6 inches wide by 8.5 inches long by about 2 inches in breadth. The design of the Nintendo Wii is embellished with clean, definite lines and has a glossy greyish-white finish which gives it a sophisticated, attractive look. This compacted console can either be tiled vertically or horizontally on a plastic stand which comes with it. It also comes with a miniature power supply unit that’s just about the same size as that of a laptop adaptor.
It does not use the conventional control sticks, buttoned gamepads, or directional pads that come with other gaming consoles…it instead uses a television remote-like controller to play its games. With the Nintendo Wii packaging comes two controllers: the Wii Remote controller, and the Nunchuk controller. The Wii Remote pretty much resembles a television set remote control, while the Nunchuk controller resembles a joystick. A gamer can use the Wii remote alone to control games or plug in the Nunchuk to the Wii remote for added control of video games.
